Iridium or Inmarsat for satellite GMDSS?

Frequently asked questions
Does Starlink replace GMDSS?
No. Starlink is broadband, not a recognised GMDSS service. You still need your required distress equipment. Many operators run Starlink for data alongside their GMDSS kit.
Can you help before a survey?
Yes. Send us your current equipment list and expiry dates (EPIRB and SART batteries, hydrostatic releases) and we’ll quote what needs replacing.
